Raspberry Pi

The book I read to research this post was The Raspberry Pi User Guide by Dogwood Apps which is a very good book that I read at kindle unlimited. This book is only around 40 pages but is quite informative and explains the subject well. The Raspberry Pi comes in 2 variants model a and b. It is made in England and is a kind of very basic credit card sized computer ideal for learning computer science. You can run linux variants debian, fedora or raspbian on these. They often come with an operating system pre-loaded on a SD card. You can always download it from the internet though if you have a computer with internet connection. This book has quite a lot of projects you can do with a Raspberry Pi like using it for a time lapse photography device or x-box media center. It does work with the python programming language although there is a simpler one called scratch especially written for it and beginners. A lot of people use it in conjunction with the Arduino which is another basic computer but has the addition of sensors. You can download a scratch studio app and some people try to run the Pi with Android like a mobile phone and this operating system is probably going to become the predominant one for the Pi in the near future. You can often buy a package that contains a Raspberry Pi with a load of extras on a site like Amazon or Ebay which is probably ideal for beginners. I did enjoy reading this book and did learn quite a lot from it. Of course I recommend it.
